I am IN with Jessica Simpson

yeah….in my dreams……

no, seriously!

The other night I dreamed that I got to meet Jessica Simpson. Not like in a line of fans trying to get her autograph. No, this was more like, she invited me over to her house like a normal person. So I got to come over we hung out like old pals, and then she gave me her address (which is wierd since don’t you think I’d know her address if I came over to her house). But she gave it to me nonetheless, and it was like a big deal that I got it, because she was acting like she had to get all this clearance to even give it to me. But of course she recognized right off that I am totally the coolest friend ever and wanted to make sure that I was her friend!

I Love These!!

Mary Kay is finally bringing back the makeup crayons. I used to buy these at Bath and Body works a long time ago, and loved them. Now I carry them as well. They have them in colors for your eyes as well as lips. They have great colors!

Is this spring break?????

First of all I must say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BRO-BRO 🙂 He is 21 today! I can’t believe my little brother is 21. Amazing.

What happened to weekends where I never get out of my pj’s?? I am pretty sure they used to exist in my life. Well this weekend was not one of them. And whatever happened to Spring Break?? Isn’t that this week? Bummer….I didn’t even realize it. No fair. I want to have a week off of my normal duties to veg and go on a vacation.

I kicked off the weekend with a night out with my pal, Jamie. We saw Because I said So and laughed our heads off. We also ate some super yummy food at Berryhill. Makes me hungry again just thinking of it. BJ spent the night at a conference in Sequin, playing keys for them. The next morning, we got “THE CALL”. Our friends Kris and Holly were having their baby girl!! Whoohoo!! So as soon as BJ got home we got dressed, ate at our favorite weekend locale “Treats” and headed to the hospital. We got there early that evening and it seemed that the baby would be here pretty soon…but six hours later and no progress forced a last-minute C-section. At 12:37 a.m. Hayden’s newest gal-pal made her appearance.

Little Abigail Emery is here at last!!

Holly was amazing. She was so brave. After we saw Holly and the baby and of course Kris, we went home really late that night and tried to get fast sleep, since that was also the night we lost an hour 😦 We woke up the next morning, went back to the hospital to help out a little and then went over to my parents church for Rodeo Sunday. They had a petting zoo, a pony, and a chili cookoff. Hayden loved all of the animals, especially the pony ride. She laughed the whole time!

After that I went with my parents to our friends, Lauren and John, wedding. It was the best day ever for an outdoor wedding. The breeze was amazing. The food was also amazing. I got to see some old friends and also qualify my brother as a bonified nut.

The “groomsman posse” was a hoot. They were the life of the party on the dance floor. I finally made it home late that night and my feet were SCREAMING at me.

So a fun weekend it was….lots of excitement!! A baby. A wedding. Friends and family. Much fun.

Then to top it off, yesterday Mr. G stopped by Bj’s work!! How cool is that. He and his brother were in town with their families on a camping trip and they came by to see us. It was so neat. I haven’t gotten to see him since our college graduation. So that was fun. Then on our drive home we saw a turtle on our rode so of course we had to get out and check it out!

Well…I guess that is it 🙂 It was a looooonnnng weekend.

The Top 11 in my Opinion

I must say I was a little disappointed with Idol last night. Not in the fact that the people voted off where not supposed to be voted off….more in the fact that some of them shouldn’t have been voted off YET.

All of my fave’s are still in the running, as they should be. But I must say that Sanjaya Malakar getting a slot in the top 12 is just appalling. No I didn’t think that neither Sabrina, Antonella, Jared, nor Sundance would be the ultimate winner of the competition; but I think that Sabrina was better than Haley and definitely better than Sanjaya. And to see Sundance go home was kind of sad. He was most definitely, 1000% better than Sanjaya. I think the worst part is now Sanjaya is going to be one of the 12 finalists, which means he will be on the American Idol tour and CD and all that jazz….yikes. Poor guy. I though he had a good voice in the audition, but certainly not good enough for the top 12. I’ve had friends that tried out for Idol and didn’t even make it that sing much better than him.

On to the good news….all my fave’s have made it!! Whoohoo….I think there are some really good singers and performers but I don’t know who it will be standing last. We shall see……

In Need of a Name

I need an official name for my blog….I want to open up suggestions from my readers please 🙂 Thanks!!!

American Idol Blurb

So American Idol has been on for a while now and it seems like each year I’m not really like, “OH MY GOODNESS ITS AMERICAN IDOOOOLLLL!!!!!!!!” but yet I still get sucked into watching it every year. The auditions are funny, but sometimes I get a little sick of them, because they seem so staged. The bad ones are just humiliating for those people.

So anyway we have been watching the different rounds and these are my favorites:

Guys
1. Blake Lewis
2. Chris Richardson
3. Chris Sligh
4. Brandon Rogers

Girls
1. Jordin Sparks
2. Lakisha Jones
3. Melinda Doolittle
4. Stephanie Edwards

I guess we shall see who wins…I think these people are going to make it a tough competition in the end…

Un-Junking my Junk

An update…well..lets see…its been a while. I have been having a major, major home clean-out. I am de-cluttering EVERYTHING. Currently, some of my projects are bigger messes than it started out as. But others are shaping up quite nicely. See, being unemployed has had its perks.

So I pretty much haven’t been on my computer much. ….just been working and working and working. When we moved into this house I was like 6 or 7 months pregnant, in the dead of Texas summer and I was miserable. So a lot of my moving preferences where bypassed. For instance, when I move, I like to clean out everything. I like to get rid of stuff, categorize it, box everything, etc. Very organized…well this move didn’t really work that way. I was in the middle of my last round of finals, graduation, being pregnant, so I didn’t really start packing until after we finished school, which left us only 11 days to be out of our house. So then when we did move, we had to move in with BJ’s parents for about a month, so all of our stuff was sorted and split up between our parents, etc…..long story short, by the time we got into our house, I was even bigger, more uncomfortable, and didn’t exactly unpack the way I would have liked to. So needless to say, I am just now getting around to things like…..scrap booking, hanging some pictures that are still stacked against the wall…you know stuff that isn’t priority, but needs to get done one of these days.

So Hayden and I have been working away these past few weeks. Please forgive me for my absence, but I really didn’t think that before and after pictures of my junk being un-junked would be too thrilling…though I could be wrong. Maybe some of you would just love it 🙂

I did happen to take some pictures of the little cutie though. She has been really fun lately. Just blossoming into a little girl….where has my baby disappeared to?? She can wear her hair in a ponytail now, she talks ninety-to-nothing, runs around really fast and is just the cutest ever. She has learned that she can “help” mommy do some things, like sweep….which I think she makes more of a mess by dragging the dirt all around the house instead of centralizing it into a pile. She also tries to do laundry by coming in and finding her clothes in the dirty laundry piles, and taking them throughout the house for me to later find and put back in the laundry room. Oh what else, oh, yes…she also does dishes with me….I will have both racks out and be unloading them….when i take a plate out…turn around to put it in the cabinet, I will turn back and the whole dishwasher will be closed up and she will be standing there looking so proud of herself for knowing how to push the racks in and close up the door 🙂 Such a help! lol.

She now counts to 10 on her own, with very little help from us. I love to hear how she pronounces her words…..”one, two, thee, foe fie (yes that is usually a combined word), sik, seaen, eight, nine, ten …yah!!!” (she always says yeah at the end, when she knows she has done something good) . She also will tell you how old she is, and then bj has been teaching her to give multiple high 5’s…and when she does he tells her to count them so she will say “Fie, Ten, Toney, Fify, Hunred” I LOVE IT! ….so so cute…we took some video of that over the weekend, so maybe I’ll get around to uploading it one of these days.

So that is an update on us. Here are some pics for you 🙂 This is my most favorite picture of her to date!!

They Call her GENIUS

So today I took Hayden in for her 15month checkup…she’s a little overdue but still close. She weighed in at 27lbs. stands 33 3/4 inches tall and then the big question….”so does she say 3-5 words??” I looked at the doctor stunned…I said, ” Are you serious…only 3 words would qualify her as normal?!?!” She said yes. I laughed and said she knows well over 50..I have counted them up!!!

MY DAUGHTER IS A BONIFIED GENIUS I TELL YOU!!!

They also gave her a shot which she didn’t even cry when they did it. Such a big girl. After I sat her up she looked at me and said “Big Girl” with a big smile on her face…what a ham.

They also asked if she responded to small commands, which of course she does as well as give a few of her own…..Which leads me to……

…she has now started telling us to “Go Away” when she is doing something that she knows she is not supposed to. Yesterday she was trying to play with the space heater and I said, “Hayden, no ma’am. You know better, do not touch.” and she looks at me, points her finger in another direction and says, “Go away. Go away. Go away, Mommy.” I was stunned. It was clear as day. No confusing the words or anything. I freaked. I almost didn’t know what to do. My 16 month daughter is already giving ME commands. Sheesh.

Trying to Take Over the Home

BJ: So what are your plans for tomorrow?
Me: Same thing as most days.
BJ: What’s that?
Me: Try to take over the home
