24 hr. Watch, Alexis, hayden, Kemah, Sean

CARNIVALE
(That sounds like the Italian pronunciation in my head)

Recently we went to Kemah for Bj’s brother’s band, 24hr. Watch. They were playing for this Christian music weekend with Big Daddy Weave. It was pretty cool and they did really good!!

We went with my brother and his girlfriend Alexis and had a really fun time.


Hayden got to ride her first carnival rides and she was so cute. She kept squealing on the miniature ferris wheel and then on the carousel she wanted to keep going again and again. Very fun!!

The funny thing is that about halfway through the day I realized that Hayden and I were dressed EXACTLY alike…same colors, same everything…lol.
I didn’t realize it at home because I was wearing a hooded shirt over my clothes for a while since it was sort of cold.

Easter 07, first Haircut, hayden

18 months and Easter

We had such a fun Easter this year. It was surprisingly cold, since it has been so warm lately. But Friday night a major cold front came through and it was soooo cold Saturday and Sunday.

Easter was a long day with no nap for Hayden, but she was a trooper. About halfway through the day the delirium kicked in and she went crazy. She was laughing uncontrollably at the littlest things and at one point my mom and I had to wrestle her to the ground just to get her diaper changed.

But she was so cute in her Easter dress and she hunted eggs like she was an old pro, and found 18!! Then she got several little Easter gifts from her grandparents and family. She got the cutest little stuff. We finally made it home at around 10 that night and it felt like 2am. We were all sooooo tired.

I remembered last Easter was the first day that Hayden crawled and now here she is running and chasing her friends around. What a year of change for her!!

This picture reminds me so much of pictures of myself when I was young.

Last week I picked up my old kitchen set from my parents house for Hayden. She loves it. She has played in her room for up to two hours without even coming out. I will go check on her and she will have all of her little babies in the tea party chairs and be serving them all types of food that she has “cooked” for them. It is so cute and amazing to see her imagination come alive.

She also had her first haircut yesterday. Her hair was growing into a mullet in the back so I just trimmed off that part and now it is a cute little bob 🙂 I love it. Hopefully that will help it to all grow out together instead of a tail straight down her back.

Lastly, she has finally learned to eat with a spoon without throwing it everywhere in route to her mouth. I have a video of her eating that I will try to post.

First Tuesdays

First Tuesdays

Me and my mom don’t get nearly enough time to spend with each other, just us girls, so we have initiated First Tuesday’s which is reserved for me and her to hang out and do whatever we want to do.

This past Tuesday was our first and so we went to Tomball and ate at the Whistle Stop. It was a really nice tea room. We ate the tortilla soup and each had a half sandwich and then they brought the good stuff!! We both ordered a different piece of pie and then split them. Italian cream cake and coconut cream pie….they were to die for. The cream cake was still hot and the icing was melting off of it. Ugh, its making me hungry for it right now just thinking of it.

We then browsed around the little area and went into all the shops, and as my dad would say “touched everything”. He gets a kick out of how a girl can’t go in a store and just look, we have to touch everything and pick things up, etc.

The funny part of the day was all these personalized items we saw with hilarious sayings like “Oh, just put on your big girl panties and deal with it.” or “I don’t skinny dip, I chunky dunk.” We had a great time laughing at all the funny quotes. We had an even better time just spending time together, just the two of us.

Writers block must be contagious

I second you Rach….I got nothin’ interesting. And…I must say that I’m so excited that I actually know that you are referring to Meredith when she says “dark and twisty” 🙂 Whoo hoo!!!

Don’t be alarmed, I just don’t have anything really to blog about. Lately I’ve been continuously cleaning out the house. We are trying to decide what to do, whether to move or build or buy the house we live in or move to Alaska…(ok, so we aren’t moving to Alaska, but you get my drift.) So, I figure I want this move to actually be a productive one and done right, so I’m cleaning out, sifting through all of our junk. I love getting rid of stuff. So really, there isn’t much to blog about except my interesting finds throughout the day and my accomplishing tasks that I do. Like for instance, today I bleached my kitchen sinks…and I’m soooo proud of them. They are SHINING!!! Do a little dance, why don’t ya?!?!

(yeah, I can see that you are all as thrilled as I am, which is why I haven’t been blogging about my cleaning tasks.)

so so sad!!! Denny dying totally stinks. I know all of you already know what will happen in season three, but this is just stinky for me right now. 😦

Now I just have to wait for repeats to start of season three so I can catch up with you all.

Last night BJ and I were going to go to a movie and dinner. Well by the time we left the house we only had about an hour so we decided we needed to go somewhere close to home. So we tried this little hole in the wall mexican food place near the house. We have heard its really good. So, we walk in and there are like 4 tables of people. The place reeked of smoke and I didn’t have very high expectations for the food.

The people in the table next to us had a little boy, probably a little younger than Hayden that flirted with us the entire time. The food came and was very delicious as promised. So we were pleased we had found a new “jewel” in the community.

So, we are waiting for our check and I notice that everyone that came in before us is now leaving all at about the same time. So its taking a while for our check and then I notice this man walking toward our table. I had noticed him and his family earlier in the evening, they were there eating and there were probably 6 of them in the family. So he is walking over to our table with this paper in his hand. I figure, hmm…maybe he’s bringing us some sort of flier or a coupon. He gets to us and says “I picked this up for you guys.” And before we can even see what it is he puts the paper on our table and walks off. Bj and I are a little stunned, and then we realize the paper IS OUR TICKET?!?!?! We are staring at each other in shock, and our instinct should have allowed for one of us at least to jump and and go outside to thank the guy, but quite frankly we both said thank you in the quietest voices ever heard and the guy was long gone.

We were completely stunned. We asked the waiter if he knew the guy and he said yes, that he was a regular. His name is Kenneth. That’s all we know. No last name or anything.

BJ and I were so amazed to have been blessed by another REAL person in the world. Sometimes it seems like life just whizzes past us and times like those just make everything slow down and mean something.

I’ve heard stories about things like that happening before, but never straight to me right in front of my face. It is amazing to be on the receiving end of someones blessing that is a complete stranger. For whatever reason he felt like doing that for us, we are truly greatful and will return the blessing to someone else one day.

Thank you Kenneth and family. I pray that you are blessed through the roof for the simple act of kindness that you showed to us. There are real people in the world. I do believe it.

american idol 07

Disgusted anyone???

That is the only word I can think of for the outcome of last nights American Idol castoff. First let me say, that yes, Stephanie DID sound like Beyonce and would have probably not won the contest due to that fact and the fact that there are some other singers on there that are better than her.

BUT she is WORLDS ahead of Sanjaya. HOW IS HE STILL ON THE SHOW????

Again, I say, WHO IS VOTING FOR HIM??

And the more pressing question….how is he NOT in the bottom few contestants?? I personally have started liking Chris Richardson a little more every week. He’s not the best, but he certainly isn’t the worst. WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA????

This is a singing contest, people….Sanjaya cannot sing!
