Quick story

Last night BJ, Hayden and I went out to eat with our friends Tara, Craig, Tiffany, Deborah and Colton. We had such a great time. Hayden was being a ham as usual and Colton was being adorable. He was saying the funniest things and making “cheese sandwhiches” out of the dough they make tortillas with 🙂 So we are sitting there and all of the sudden Colton says in reference to Hayden…”She is smart and strong and brave”. It was HILARIOUS. It was so heartfelt and we were all just sitting there waiting for him to profess his love to her. It was the most precious thing ever. We were all cracking up so hard. Sweet Colton!

Another funny story is on the way to the restaurant, Hayden said, “Two babies…mommy, two babies. Too much” Lol…. So funny as well.

Hey….

Who left the holy moly comment?? You didn’t put your name! 🙂

Anyone want a double stuffed oreo????

Well we just had the shock of all shocks!!! We went to the doctor today and found out we are having TWINS!!! Everyone has been giving us a hard time and joking that we were having twins and neither one of us ever entertained the thought that it would ever actually happen.

We are walking around like zombies….it is overwhelmingly amazing. It seems unreal.

Wow! We are having twins!

Right now they think that they are identical twins, meaning that they share the same sack, which bumps up the risk factor. But the good news is I won’t be late this time!!! I’m very excited about that! Maybe we’ll have them before the new year and get three child write-offs for taxes!!! 🙂

Right now my due date is January 3 and they babies are measuring great and their hearbeats were both strong. BJ was able to go to the appt. with me which I am so glad because I would have freaked out without him there. ah…who am I kidding….I freaked out WITH him there!

We are so shocked and stunned and speechless, and we know that God is in control.

He’s A Mom

Well these last few days have been less than pretty, let me tell ya. Either I got the nasty stomach bug that is going around or babe in the belly is not so nice to its mamma. Or as Jordan would say “babes in the belly” ha ha….ha ha…not funny.

Basically I’ve been puking my guts out for two days…so much that BJ was up with me throughout the night and had to stay home from work all day yesterday because it was so bad. We had to send Hayden to the grandparents all day and then the other grandparents picked her up and have her for the night and today and maybe longer.

I finally ventured out of bed, because my bones are so sore from being there for so long. I feel like I’ve been in twilight zone for days. I’ve taken like 20 baths between barfing and coma-like naps. My Dr. prescribed this miracle pill that worked almost the second I took it and no more sickness! Now I am so so weak. I don’t think I’ve ever been that sick before.

BJ was a trooper. When we first got married I used to give him a hard time that when I was sick he didn’t nurture me. You know like when your mom sits there and rubs your arm and caters to you hand and foot…..he tried, but occasionally he would still ask what’s for dinner or something 🙂 Well I must say that in four years he has grown to be a regular Mom. He waited on me hand and foot and even helped clean up my puke with no complaints. Now that is a mom for you 🙂

Anyway, enough about barf. Can you believe the little floating babe on my page! It actually looks like a human…look at the little leg buds and arm buds 🙂 and you can tell that it has a head….and a rather large one 🙂 I still have a week until I go to the doctor and I can’t wait. They told us yesterday that if I couldn’t hold down any liquids or anything by today that I needed to come in and I almost hoped we could go in and maybe get a quick ultrasound . But I was much happier to cease the hurling, though it would have been nice to see the babe as well.

Oh and a major milestone….yesterday while Hayden was at Grammy’s she pooped on the potty for the first time!! She told them she needed to go and they put her on there and she WENT!!! SO exciting! Maybe she will actually be potty trained before the new babe arrives. I would be in heaven!

Well I am back to bed.

CHEERS: To blogger saving the posts by the minute so I don’t lose anymore ever again!
JEERS: To the obvious stomach rumbling

PIANO

This year BJ’s birthday gifts sort of had a running theme….Piano. For those of you that don’t know BJ plays the piano AMAZINGLY!!! I always told him growing up that I wanted him to play in my wedding whenever that happened….little did I know that he indeed would and it would be OUR wedding 🙂 Lol.

So anyway, I arranged for him to inherit a family piano that has been in my family for 5 generations. But no one in my family really plays the piano anymore. So since we can’t afford BJ’s dream baby grand, this will have to do for now. I was so excited to give it to him.

The second gift was tickets to Harry Connick Jr. tonight…wooohoooo!!! We are so excited! We’ve got great seats and are pumped to see him.

Happy Birthday BJ!!!!!!

I can’t believe you are 25!! I’m so glad to have spent the last 7 with you…and I look forward to many more birthdays to come!! Hope your day is the greatest 🙂

Introducing PEGGY

This past weekend one of my childhood dreams came true for Hayden. I had it in my head years ago that I wanted a duck. A sweet little yellow fuzzy duck that could live in my room with me and be my pet. I bought a bird cage for my soon-to-be pet and was all set. Or so I thought.

If you look hard you can see that one little yellow duck in the cage…yes that was the dream pet I had.

The confusion happened when I kept saying that I wanted a baby chick. You know the ones you see in cartoons that are so cute and little and yellow, yes that’s the one. Well in my head it translated to growing up, staying little and cute and somehow transforming into a completely different animal. A duck. Yes, I wanted a baby chick that would live forever yellow and fuzzy so it had to be a duck. I guess it never crossed my mind that I just needed to envision a baby duck.

Well the day finally came and my parents took me to the place that I was to get the aforementioned superhero transformer animal. I walked in and saw a grown “chick” which is a Chicken for those of you who have brains that actually do work and you already know that chicks grow to chickens; baby ducks to big…ducks. Well the chickens were of course, ugly and scary and not pet-like whatsoever. I think I ran out and never looked back and that was the end of my pet duck/chick dream.

So this Easter the dream resurfaced with adult-like undertones. Basically I got my chickens and ducks straightened out. I wanted to get Hayden her own duck for Easter…no not to keep in her room in a little bird cage, but in the pond on the property out front of Bj’s parents house, which happens to be walking distance from ours. So Sunday after church we headed out to Trading Days at the fairgrounds which to me seemed like a bunch of non-rodeo quality animals and puppies and kittens all lined up for us to choose from.

So we walked up and down the rows, and pet the bunnies, saw the baby pigs (they wagged their tails at Hayden, it was adorable) , looked at the ducks and the baby ducks, saw the scary chickens ( yep, still ugly and not pet-like) and finally we saw her…..

See the deal was Mr. Munson was getting some ducks too, so he had picked out 7 ducks. They were all pretty much black or gray and looked similar.

So I wanted to get Hayden a duck that looked totally different so she could spot it from the rest of them. So we saw this big, pretty, white duck and I knew that was the one. ( OK, so it was the only white duck on the premises, but she was THE ONE) We paid a mere $10 for her, which for some reason surprised me that it was that cheap, but I don’t really know what I had in mind that it would cost.

Anyway, so we brought home all the ducks and let them out into the pond. Then we named her…Peggy.

For Sale

Hey everyone!! I’m selling my car seat, base and stroller that I used with Hayden. They are all in great shape, but I am selling them so I can get a bigger double stroller and the one I want needs a different infant carrier. So, if you need one or know of someone who does…here is the the ebay listing number 150118663801. I don’t have the stroller one up yet, but I will update when I do. Of course if you live around here we can arrange pickup to avoid shipping 🙂

Almost Junk Free

I am nearing the end of my unjunking my junk project and it is so nice. Bj and I worked on a few things that I was needing his help on this weekend. I tried to stay busy to keep my mind off my churning stomach below. Yes folks, I have had some serious nausea with this pregnancy so far, but surprisingly it only lasted through the weekend. Yesterday and today have been totally nausea-free and I hope that it stays that way for the remainder of the time.

Last week was also a big week for us because we paid off all of our credit card debt!! WHOOHOO! We’ve been working on it since the beginning of our marriage it seems and it is finally gone!! Thank you JESUS! It is such a relief!

We’ve also decided to put Hayden in a little Mother’s Day Out program here. I went and checked it out last week and loved it. So we made the final decision last night and she will start this fall. I think it is perfect timing because she will get to start and be in it for 4 months before the bambino arrives. That will help her not feel like she is just getting shipped out. She is so ready for this. She is such a smart girl and can already count to 13!! So I am really excited to see her learn in a group setting. It was really hard to find a place that we could afford that actually taught with a curriculum. I didn’t want it to be just a daycare setting because that isn’t what we were going for at all. I want her to start learning in a relaxed setting and I only wanted her to go 2 days a week. Some places were offering full weeks and that is just too much for her little self. So, we are very excited!!

Yesterday Hayden and I went to pick out the paint for her bathroom. We are painting it and making it into a total kid bathroom….I’ll post pics when we are finished. Hopefully it will be started and maybe even finished before the week is over. It’s GREEN 🙂 Fun fun!!

PREGNANCY MONTH 1 RECAP:
So one month of this pregnancy is already over. It still feels wierd to think that I am pregnant again. We are so excited and thrilled and can’t wait to see Hayden become a big sister. If you ask her where her baby is she will come over and pull up my shirt. ( Mel, seems like I remember you saying Carson did that too) Yesterday was really funny. I was standing on a step and she was down on the ground so she came over and pulled my shirt out and her head was under my shirt and she said ” Hi Baby”….so cute! We haven’t decided what we are doing about the name yet. We want to keep it a secret but we figured that Hayden would probably give it away, so we will see…We’ll let you know when we decide for sure, but as of now, our lips are sealed with any ideas that we may have. We will be finding out the gender again though, if we get lucky and baby cooperates. So much to plan and think about!! So exciting!

I’m wanting to do some things differently this time around, for one, eat better and exercise the entire time. We’ve been working out for the past several months since we joined the Y and it has been really great. So we want to continue doing that throughout so that I stay healthy and not gain so much weight this time. Yuck!
