Picture Tag

I saw this post on Steece’s Pieces and thought I would participate. The picture isn’t that good, but what it is is a picture of Hayden right when she found out we were going to the Nutcracker. We had just told her we were going on a special outing, but didn’t tell her where until we pulled up where she could see the sign outside the theater.

She was saying “YESSSSSSSSSSS” in the picture.

I tag all of you readers out there! You go to your 4th folder on your computer where you keep your photos stored, then pick the 4th picture in that folder and post it. Don’t edit or crop or anything just post it and then tag 4 people to post theirs! Leave your website in my comments so I can check out your pictures as well!

New Videos

Ok, I know its kind of long, but I’m hoping it will give some of you that don’t get to see us very often a feel for the things that the girls are doing these days. Sorry for my mommy talk. It even annoys me to listen to.

I’m behind

This past weekend BJ went with his buddies on a camping trip to Oklahoma. It just so happened that a cold front came through and it was in the 20’s at night. Needless to say he came home with a fun case of strep A.

While he was gone we managed to unpack about 13 boxes from the garage that are begging to be unpacked. Many of them Christmas boxes!! So we got one tree partially decorated. I also wrapped all the presents I have bought, which is nearly everything. I am so close to being finished shopping!

Ella bonked herself on a toy while trying to walk. Poor thing is so easily injured!

Sunday night Hayden and I were taken on a special suprise date by my parents. We didn’t know where we were going and when we pulled up to “THE NUTCRACKER” I got a little nervous. Hayden has gone to a few movies and gets restless during them, so I was nervous that such a wonderful outing would be too much for her. But she surprised us all and did amazingly. Yes she wispered through the whole program and let out a squeal during a quiet time, but she did great. She loved the sparkling tutu’s and was not so keen on the rats. YUCK! We had a lovely outing and can’t wait to go back with all of the girls one day!

Also in the news, Preslyn has now joined the walking gang! She just took out yesterday and started taking steps! Ella is a walking machine now. She walks everywhere. Preslyn has started waving and saying “thank you” occasionally . My girls are getting so so big.

Hayden knows how to count backwards from 5 and how to say Merry Christmas in Spanish! And she has started identifying numbers, even out of sequence!

The other night she said,” Grammy you sure do come in handy.” It was so funny and she just said it out of no where. That girl is a hoot!

We recently unpacked some of her toys from the old house and she has played with them like she’s never seen them before! She is loving Mrs. Potato Head and now sleeps with about 12 animals in her bed. She is very concerned if even one of them is missing and in the day time she puts them in her little doll pack n play.

I’m in the process of uploading some new videos so stay tuned!

The Horn of 2008

Thanksgiving this year was so much fun. We hit all three thanksgiving meals that we could possibly and sadly weren’t able to make it to a fourth. Wednesday night we went to BJ’s family meal, then Thursday to College Station for my Dad’s family and then Friday was my mom’s family. We rotate around with her family and this Thanksgiving was my turn to host. We were excited to have everyone over to the new house. And also thrilled to celebrate with Preslyn and Ella for their first Thanksgiving out of the NICU!

So, Friday morning I woke up and started my turkey. My first turkey to make and I was nervous to say the least. So, I knew at least that I had to clean out the cavity in the turkey and then I had my recipe for how to make it. But I wasn’t sure what all was supposed to come out so I called my Dad.

I had already taken out what looked to me like a horn. Couldn’t feel anything else so I called to confirm if anything else was in there that wasn’t supposed to be. He told me yeah there would be a “horn” thing and maybe a bag with the organs. (Gross) So I told him I had the horn thing, did I need to save it to cook with it or whatever. He said no you can throw the “horn thing” away…and he said by the way, that “horn thing” is the neck. THE NECK???? Why hadn’t I realized that all by myself? Must have been the fact that I didn’t get to sleep until 3:30 the night before.

I thought I was going to hurl. I don’t know why it never occurred to me that that was what it was but the thought of it while it was in my hand was pretty disgusting. And the fact of where I pulled it out of….oh it was just all a little much and a LOT gross!

I then told my dad, ” Dad, if you notice that your daughter is calling something a strange name, like a “horn”, then she obviously doesn’t know what she is holding so just roll with it and don’t fill her in on what is really going on!”

Anyway, everyone said my turkey tasted really good, (Thank you Domino magazine for the recipe) and we had a really nice time all together! My grandmother let me borrow her really beautiful accent plates to go with my table and they were perfect!

We have a walker!

Ella has been practicing and practicing and her steps are getting more and more at a time!!! She still is working on going straight….lol, but she is making progress!

Hey fabulous fans 🙂

So, I am up for my blog redesign and I’m kind of stumped on a tag line for underneath my title…I am sticking to the Table for Five but I wanted something cute and quirky to go along with it. I’m doing away with “toddler and twins what could be more fun”….so please put in your suggestions and I will make a poll out of my top favorites and you can help me choose!

Even if you have never commented before, please join in!

Thanks!!!

Hello??

Yesterday, Ella found the house phone and immediately put it up to her ear and started talking away like she was on the phone. I was stunned. How does she even know how to do that?? Everytime I would say, “Say Hello” she would put it right back up to her ear.

She is such a smartie!
