22 weeks!!!

How your baby’s growing:

Your baby now looks like a miniature newborn, checking in at 10.9 inches and almost 1 pound. Her skin will continue to appear wrinkled until she gains enough weight to fill it out, and the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her head and body is now visible. Her lips are becoming more distinct, and the first signs of teeth are appearing as buds beneath her gum line. Her eyes are developed, though the iris (the colored part of the eye) still lacks pigment. Eyelids and eyebrows are in place, and her pancreas, essential for hormone production, is developing steadily.

All is well in the womb

We saw the babies yesterday 🙂 Yeah!! Sorry I have no ultrasound pics for your viewing pleasure this time. They were so squished in there that we couldn’t really get any good clear pictures. The tech was having a hard time figuring out which baby was which for a while. They were laying transverse in my stomach which means side to side instead of up and down. Which is nice because they aren’t up in my lungs and ribs! Both of their heads were on my right and their rears on my left. They are so cute 🙂

They are weighing just under 1 lb. (403 grams and 397 grams). I believe they said 1lb. is 450grams. So they are getting close! They are right on target for their size and weight. Also some more tests came back normal for no birth defects so yeah!!! The cords are still a big knotted mess. Ugh. He said it looks like they are wrapped at least two times around each other. So we are still believing that the pressure doesn’t tighten them any earlier than is safe for them. We want them in there for as long as possible!

We made my next appointment to go in and that is the day before I turn 26weeks so I will probably be admitted that day. September 26. I can’t believe that is just 4 short weeks away. I’m getting ready for it and mentally ready. I know it is what is best and that is what takes precidence in my mind.

So on the way home we traded in our Sequoia, which was a lease, for another Sequoia 🙂 This time we own it!! Yeah!!! We have been talking about doing it for so long, and finally decided it was time.

It is so awesome and decked out with a DVD and a bunch of other perks that our other one didn’t have like floor mats (yes, we didn’t even have floor mats in the last car), keyless entry and reverse sensors. It’s so nice…Hayden loves the DVD player so much that we had to bribe her out of the car last night!

Oh and finally…here is the pic of our monstrous stoller 🙂 I think I may need to get a blinker on it or something. lol. Sometimes I look at it and think, ” is this really my life??” Thank you to all of our family that had a part in giving this to us!! We will definitely get lots of use out of it for the next several years!!! Now if only I could find someone to push me around in it 🙂 Bj asked how in the world we were supposed to turn in it and I said you don’t …you just go straight. 🙂

Showers of Blessings
–The Finale

I had a wonderful third shower on Saturday! It was titled a Baby Blessing because the ladies wanted a chance to just sit and pray over me and the babies. It was such a time of peace to be with so many believers who are lifting up our family daily.

We got some more necessities and some super cute clothes, and even some homemade blankets and booties that are so adorable.

My mom gave us very practical stuff this shower. ….it was pretty funny, but it was stuff that I have been saying that I needed and since she comes every Tuesday to help me with stuff, she has been making note of all these things…such as an apple slicer (will save me hours of slicing apples for 5), she got me some fan/light chains, because I can’t reach half of the ones in my house, oh and she got me black peppercorn refills for my pepper shaker, and a book from a mother to a daughter, and lastly….she got me my one big craving that I’ve been having lately…ice cream sandwhiches 🙂 YUM! It was so cute 🙂

I can’t believe we are winding down in this pregnancy. I remember when we first found out it was twins and started planning these showers and I had thought to myself, “Ok, so August is back-to-back showers, then labor day, then hayden’s birthday party and then hospital….ahhhh!” well now we are here at the end of August which means 4 weeks until admittance. I know they will fly by and it is just so crazy how the time is zooming now. (Here’s me at 21w2d)

I have an appointment today which we are looking forward to! I love seeing how much they grow in just 3 weeks time. Plus today we will figure out the day I get admitted and all the in between stuff as well.

We had a really nice weekend. We started it with my parents bringing Chinese food over on Friday night and then we watched the Astronaut farmer, which turned out to be good, but very long and kind of slow. My parents were recently blessed with a new car and so they got to show us, and it is so nice. It has a DVD and fits 8 🙂 Perfect for my growing family!!

Then Saturday, poor BJ hasn’t got to have a day to do his own thing in so long, so he got to play golf twice in one weekend this weekend 🙂 We also got to see his brother’s band play on Saturday night. It was Britt’s last performance with them, as he has resigned his spot in the band.

On Sunday we went to church and Hayden decided she was going to make a grand entrance. She was waving to everyone she saw like she was Ms. america, and then one lady smiled at her, so she came right up to her and said “Hi, I’m Hayden” and just waited for the lady to introduce herself as well. It was hilarious! My little social butterfly.

We got to swim with our pals after church and it was such a hot day! Perfect for the pool!

Such a nice weekend indeed!

Reverting Back

Well the carseats are here and the first thing Hayden wanted to do was get in one and act like a baby. She sat there and rocked herself and got her blanket to cover up.

Recent Convo between me and the Wee

Me: ok Hayden its time for big girl bed
Hayden: I sleep in Big Bed (pronounced Bay-yed)
Me: yes…Hayden can you say Beeed (emphasis on the E as in egg sound)
Hayden: Baayed
Me: No, BeeeeD
Hayden: BaaayyeDuh

After that I just cracked up at how hick-ville she sounded

Nursery for two

Well the nursery is coming along so well!! It still needs the curtins hung, but those should be in any day now…plus a few more finishing touches, but it is so cute! 🙂

I wanted to post pics for those of you who haven’t had a chance to see it! Thank you to all of our friends and family for all of your contributions toward the nursery!

Dear Friends and Family,

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the Komen Houston Race for the Cure® on October 6, 2007 in the fight against breast cancer. One in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime and the more we raise, the more the Komen Houston Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own community and support the national search for a cure.

This will be my third year to participate in the Race for the Cure, and this year my participation will be in a different form. There is an option through the Race to “Sleep in for the Cure”. You still receive a race T-shirt and can participate in fundraising but I will not personally be out walking this year. I have formed a team that will be out there representing me, and I encourage you to join them!! The Race is such a wonderful experience and a good chance to get out and support a great cause with your friends and family. In the past we have had all women, but this year we are making it our goal to have some male walkers in the pack!!! We need your help guys!!! You can join my team by clicking on the search for teams and look for The River Racers or entering in team code TRI.

Hopefully after the Race everyone will be able to come by and visit me at St. Lukes downtown, where I will be doing my hospitalization for the monitoring of the twins. I’m raising up to more walkers for the team!!! If you can’t join us on Race Day, please join me by participating in the Sleep in for the Cure! There is a link to sign up on the webpage and you also get a pillow case J

Click here to visit my personal page and pledge your support.

Please join me in the fight by pledging in support of my participation in the Race or contributing generously to the Komen Houston Race for the Cure®. Your tax-deductible contribution will fund innovative outreach and awareness programs for medically underserved communities in Komen Houston and national breast cancer research. It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause – you can make a donation online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. If you would prefer, you can also send your tax-deductible contribution to the address listed below. Whatever you can give will help! I truly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you so much for your time and support in the fight against breast cancer! Every step counts!

Sincerely,

Lindsay Munson

Showers of Blessings #2

Again, such a fun weekend of seeing friends and family!!
My future sister in law 🙂 , Alexis, hosted a beautiful shower for the babies. Everything was so cute and came in two’s, which you would think I would eventually get used to but it still feels so weird to open two dresses, two carseats, two of this and two of that 🙂

Anyway, here are some pictures from the weekend! It was so lovely 🙂
My brother actually made the watermelon basket 🙂 Its his new talent!

I kept hearing from everyone that I looked like I had grown a bunch in a couple of weeks. The babies have been moving around so much lately and BJ and I have both felt them from the outside and even seen my stomach bounce all over a few times! I can’t believe we are closing in on the homestretch. Only 5 1/2 weeks left until hospital day and then who knows when these two little girls will make their grand arrival!?!?

BJ and I are really getting close to finalizing our names. I’m pretty 100% on mine and he came up with a really good one yesterday that he is mulling over. So yeah!!

Just a quickie

I keep forgetting to post that Hayden has been sleeping in her big girl bed at night now for 11 nights with no problems at all. 🙂 Still in the crib for naps, but we are making progress!!!

We are all under the weather with summer colds so pray for us if you think of it. The babes are kicking away lately and I saw my belly move today for the first time….in two different spots. 🙂 Pretty cool! Tomorrow is 20 weeks!! The end is nearing! I can’t believe our babies will be here sometime in the next 14 weeks. That is amazing. We are working hard on names so if you have suggestions throw them on out there 🙂

I had my last appointment with my regular OB this week and it was kind of sad to go, but I know the new doctors are going to take great care of us. I was measuring at 21 weeks…so just a couple of weeks ahead, which they said is amazing that I am not way bigger for twins, but that I am gaining just enough to allow the babies to grow how they should and for me not to overgain! That is the goal 🙂 My weight gain total is 9 lbs. Which is not bad for being at halfway of a regular pregnancy!

Tootles 🙂

19 weeks 3 days

I look tired from my Sunday nap, but I wanted to get a pic of my belly since its really been on the grow lately.
