Another fun day in the life of Hayden

I can’t believe how big she is getting…she is turning more and more into a little girl and less and less a baby…sniff sniff…

oh and yes, she loves bath time…even when its not time…she will go in there and just look into it at all her toys 🙂 so cute!!

9 months in–9 months out!!!!

I took Hayden to her 9 month appointment today and she did so great. I was worried because her appt. was smack in the middle of her normal nap time, but she was fab as usual!! She was a show off in the waiting room and made lots of friends and then went in and weighed off the charts at 23lbs and her height…off the charts as well at 30 inches. She is Nearly half my size less one inch!! Amazing!!! She checked out perfect as far as development and then they were going to check her hemoglobin and had to draw blood. I was prepared for a fight and a screaming tired child, but she sat there and didn’t even flinch when they stuck her and didn’t pull away or anything as the nurse squeezed her blood out of her precious little finger. I was a proud mamma!! What a trooper!!

So…lots in store these next few months….weening off the bottle by 12 months, transitioning to whole milk, and almost old enough to face forward in the car. She weighs enough, just waiting on that age to catch up 🙂

Oh…and did I mention that she is cutting FOUR TEETH!!!!! One has peeked through, and the other three are visible, but not through yet. She hasn’t even been grouchy or anything hardly. She is going to have 6 little teeth in there…how cute will that be!!!

Well ta ta…I’ll post a couple of pics in the morning…for now it is off to bed.

Some of the top 10 reasons being a mother rocks my face off

10. Because hearing your child say “mama” and actually mean to try to get your attention, wow…its so beyond words!!!
9. Gotta love a job that lets you stay home in your pjs all day long if you so choose.
8. watching your child finally understand how to play peekaboo and being super excited to play over and over and over
7. Getting your child to laugh so hard that you yourself are crying
6. Waking up to a crying child and rocking them back to sleep with them rubbing on your face
5. Knowing how to soothe and comfort in different situations
4. Going to the nursery and see her face light up when she sees us
3. When they give you kisses when you ask
2. Cuddling under my neck
1. the excitement of her first glimse of me in the morning that makes her tense up all her muscles and the biggest open mouth smiles!!

I’m on my way to my free car!!!!!!

Okie dokie….so I’m in a big challenge to go on target for my free car this month with Mary Kay….. the thing is…I need people!! Lots of you!!

first of all…does anyone know of anyone who would be great at selling a product…pretty much any product?? This product, is really easy to sell because it is wonderful and practically sells itself. So, send them my way. i would love to tell them all about my job.

And secondly, does anyone know anyone who would just love a day of pampering. A facial, glamour session, pedicure and spa treatment?? Well then recommend them to me and I’ll call on your behalf. A recommendation is your biggest compliment to me.

hmmm….oh yes, and if YOU want to start earning your own extra income…get a 50% discount on anything you want to wear yourself and make 50% on everything you sell then just let me know 🙂

Oh yes, and lastly….I am going to do a portfolio of all the “looks” this quarter…there are four of them. So, I need models for my book. Just let me know when a good time is and I will bring the makeup and you will love the new look for summer that we come up with for you.

Hayden with Granna, Granddad and “Piggie”
(yes, we know it is Piglet, but for some reason we call it Piggie 🙂

I was squirting her with a mist fan and she thought it was the funniest thing.
She is laughing so hard right here.

Me and my daddy on father’s day 🙂

Top 11 Ways to Avoid Having your Car Abducted

A few car safety tips for those who don’t want to lose their rides this summer…or ever for that matter 🙂 Some of these almost sound like they could be jokes or on David Letterman’s top 10 list of ways to not get your car stolen, but hey…I’m just putting it out there for all to hear! 🙂 Please excuse my comments…I coudn’t resist.

Here they are:

1) Keep your vehicle locked at all times, even while driving. Close all windows and sunroofs, no matter how hot it is. ( Ha…NO KIDDING!)
2) Never leave your keys in the car. (Even when you are driving?? But how will the car go??)
3) If possible, park in busy, well-lit areas. Thieves prefer to work in the dark. Leave your car in park or in gear with the wheels turned toward the curb or some other obstruction, so thieves won’t be able to tow it easily.
4) Avoid leaving valuables inside your vehicle where passersby can see them.
5) Install an anti-theft system in your vehicle if it doesn’t have one. A mechanism that locks onto the steering wheel can be a very visible sign that you’ve taken steps to protect your vehicle. Ignition cut-off systems prevent a car from being started. Some new cars come with passive alarms that activate automatically when the key is removed from the ignition. One system emits a signal that can be tracked by the police. Thieves are reluctant to steal vehicles that can be tracked and recovered quickly. Many insurers offer discounts for these types of systems.
6) Beware of the “bump-and-rob” technique. Carjackers bump your car from the rear, then steal it when you get out to look for damage. When stopped at a traffic light, leave room to maneuver around the vehicle ahead if you need to. If another car bumps yours and you feel threatened, drive to a populated area. If you have a cell phone, call the police for assistance. (Call the Police…no way…who’da thunkit?)
7) Do not leave registration or title in the car. Too often a car thief is pulled over and gets away from the police because he or she can produce the auto registration. If multiple drivers use the vehicle, the best suggestion would be to hide the registration in a secret location that only the owners know. (Note to self…when going to the grocery store, get Hayden, diaper bag, purse, keys, cell, grocery list, debit card….finger foods for H. oh…and registration…sheesh.. I’ll try to remember.)
8) Look around. Be aware of your surroundings, especially in garages, parking lots and gas stations. (For some reason I picture a Jackie Chan-like figure, in all black, jumping out and running to the rear of the car and checking both ways for “bad guys” before dashing to the store.)
9) Know where you’re going. Avoid known high-crime areas even if the alternate route takes a little longer. (aw…c’mon…but the high-crime areas are so cool!!) Do you think they have a sign that says **Attention: HIGH CRIME AREA AHEAD>>> Take Mommy Detour IMMEDIATELY!!!)
10) If confronted by a carjacker, do not resist. Cars can be replaced; you can’t. (ok..I won’t but I’ll grab my registration while I’m not resisting 🙂
11) Have your car’s vehicle identification number (VIN) etched on each of the windows. Car thieves want to get off cheap. They don’t want to go to the expense of replacing all the glass. (Uh..no thanks…that would be hilarious looking.)

If..for some reason these do not pan out for you like they say they should…get car insurance now. Car Insurance Companies

"That’ll be 5.3 blocks please!"

Well it is 12:07 am….do you know where you children are?? Yes, I do. I always thought that was so funny when they would air that phrase late at night…then I realized the reason was due to the city-wide curfew going into affect. I never really understood the curfew thing…(not the parentally inflicted one) the legally inflicted one. I mean, I understood the reason for it, but not how it was supposed to be monitored. Ok, for instance, first of all, I don’t even know nor did I ever know what the curfew was…so, I was a working high school girl that worked the Friday night shift at the local Kroger..so would I have gotten pulled over, given a ticket, or a citation or what, say I had to get gas, or went to rent a movie or something?? And what about going to a late movie…how are you supposed to go if there is a curfew around town?? If you know please enlighten me for future references! Thanks!!

Sheesh…the gas prizes are killing me!! The other day I pulled up, filled up, and paid and then had a mild heartattack as my receipt printed….$69 and I wasn’t even on EMPTY!!!!!! AHHHH!!!! I remember when I first started driving and I could fill up the whole Civic for about $13-14. Unbelievable! That would barely put me at a quarter of a tank these days. I think its crazy how during the hurricanes the gas prices went through the roof and then back down so that we would stop freaking out. But now, they are right back up there where they were then and no one seems to think twice. The scary thing is that we are in hurricane season again….I wonder how high the prices will go this time.

Random thought:
I did some looking into on the subject of gold and silver and holding there value and I found some surface info that was pretty interesting….check this out! GOLD Though it says that silver holds its value…can you imagine having to carry around blocks of gold and silver in your purse…ha! And we think that the fad now is to carry a whopper of a purse…think what we’d be carrying around then…I can picture all these moms walking around with those portable boxes that roll behind them….(yes I currently have one) but I don’t use it on a daily basis to carry around my silver! 🙂 And another problem with that would be, how in the world do you make change with a block…”yes that will be 5.3 blocks please” ” Oh, I’m sorry but how would you like the .3??” So would we all go back to the credit system?? I now have .3 of a block of credit at Blockbuster…will that cover my late fee?? 🙂

Ok so I am going to start a cheers/Jeers….I know its so “done already” but I like it….gives a good summarizing of the daily highlights and lowlights.

Jeers: Youth camp lasting until 12 am and BJ not having his house key….
Cheers: Family Reunion tomorrow!!!!! Yippee!!

And for you miss Court…I sure will try. I should have some good ones after we go to the family reunion this weekend 🙂 PS…sniff sniff we miss you guys!!!! can you send me your phone numbers again that got changed because I tried to call you on your birthday and the phone number wasn’t working or something 😦

Roll Call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like my office is overtaking me!!!!! AHHH!!!! I am reorganizing everything and I feel like it keeps getting worse and not better. Ugh! At least at the end of it all I will be very organized and get rid of all this paper work that I don’t need!

Anyway, last night was the first night of youth camp and it was really good. There are about 120 kids there!! Hayden did really good, but I don’t think I will take her again because it was so late when we got back. Plus when we got back the people that we took in the car with us accidentally locked their keys in their car and so we had to wait for someone to come unlock it for them. Our two babies were so so so tired!! Hayden was going wild crawling everywhere and acting like a lunatic! It was really funny.

Anyway, I am really excited because I am getting my first Mary Kay recruit at the end of this month and looking for my next one!! Is it you?? I say the fun thing is getting all the fun prizes and the discount on makeup. Plus earning money on the side. Can’t beat that!

Well back to they attack of the office!

Hope everyone is doing swell!!

OH, I’ve been wanting to do this for a while…Ok..I have over 20,000 hits on this blog and I wonder who is out there reading, so…lets have a roll call. go to the comments section and leave me a message or just your name…I want to see who is all out there 🙂

3 years of weddedness :)

So our Bentwater plans didn’t work out for this weekend, but we still had a really fun time. We went to Chuy’s for dinner, then to main event and had fun playing all the games, and then to see “The Lakehouse” (which was very pleasant indeed). All around a fun time was had!! I love these pics, though they are kind of pixel-y. Oh well…you get the idea!
