Tis the season of Christmas..in other words…What a month!

We have had such a busy month that I’ve been struggling keeping up with blogging about it.
The 13th we started our Christmas celebrations with my family, since Sean and Alexis were spending Christmas in California. It was lots of fun and felt a little funny getting presents so early. And the weather here hasn’t helped out much. Its been in the 70’s for so long, then we will get a couple of days of 40ish weather and then back to 70’s. Its a wonder we haven’t all been sick from the changing. Anyway, we got some fun presents, including a TomTom. Her name is Bonnie and she gets us where we need to go. Hayden got decked out in press-on nails and roller skates!
We trekked over to a big Texas Christmas tradition and went to Santa’s Wonderland. We had never been before, so on one of the cold nights, we bundled up the kids and went. It was lots of fun and they loved all the lights!

The “magical” tunnel
As we were driving under one of the lighted tunnels, Hayden said in almost a whisper, “This is so magical!” It was precious.
Then we celebrated my brother-in-law’s engagement at their party, then had Christmas eve with my extended family on my dad’s side, went to our church Christmas eve service, celebrated our own Christmas, celebrated with BJ’s family and then celebrated with my mom’s family! Whew! Lots of celebrating, eating, giving and receiving went on!!!
Christmas morning, Hayden was so cute…she ran down and came to our room and squealed, “Santa came and ate all his cookies!” (We had told her that is how she would know if he came. So we got everyone up and ready and went in the other room where the tree with presents was and she was so excited. She was opening presents left and right and it was all a bit overwhelming at times, but it is fun while she is so excited about it. Next year I can’t imagine the commotion that will take place with all three of the girls in the mix of it all. For Christmas, the twirls each got their first molars and Preslyn started walking full time. The teeth were grueling for them. We have had many rough nights, fever, cranky babies, diarrhea, and one stomach virus. Thank goodness we got two teeth out of it!

Pres so happy for Christmas!

Sorry we have no pictures of the dad! He was doing all the picture taking! He is there don’t worry!!!
Here is Preslyn’s new trick! She is seriously such a monkey!
It was great to see everyone and we had a wonderful holiday! I loved having all of my girls home, especially Ella. It was so fun to spend her first Christmas home with her. I definitely don’t take that for granted.
The day after Christmas, Hayden came down again and came in our room and said, “Santa ate all his cookies AGAIN!!” we both laughed and tried to explain that Santa wouldn’t be back for a while.
We were blessed beyond belief and are looking towards a year with big goals and dreams and hopes for our family. We are praying for God to change us in the ways that we need to be changed, to help us accomplish our goals to be better believers, spouses, parents, friends, listeners, motivators and helpers. We are striving to reach our fullest potential in everything we do and want to make strides toward those things in 2009.

Ok ok ok

So since my last post we have done tons of stuff. Too much for just one post and too long for me to sit down and blog it. So I’ll give a bit of a recap:

We had fathers day. BJ is such an amazing dad. This last year he had to really step up and do things that he wasn’t used to and been the mom and dad alot of the time. He has totally amazed me and pretty much everyone around us at what a wonderful husband and father he really is. I am so thankful to have him as my partner.

We got the babies dedicated. They were so so cute and did amazingly. I on the other hand, wept during the whole time they were reading our life verse and praying over us. The verse that we chose for them was this:

~Romans 12:2, 6-8 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. ~

It was so wonderful to stand up there and show our whole church what a miracle these babies are. I just couldn’t contain my sheer gratitude to God for allowing us to be standing there with both of them. Totally healthy and happy and more beautiful than ever. The miracle of it all just really hit home in that moment.

We also had a surprise birthday party for my BFF and we actually pulled it off. It was really hard but we did it somehow. One thing about Deb is that she is a super-sleuth, so we were all thrilled that we actually surprised her!

My babies turned 7 months old! Ella got another tooth, so that is two bottom fronts for both babies and they are both working on the side ones now on the bottom. Hayden cut her top 2 year molar so we only have one more for her and we will be rejoicing when that sucker comes in!

Ella also started crawling about a week and a half ago!!! I have video of this, but I forgot my camera at my parents house so I’ll have to post when I get it back. Pres just started today as well!!! They are really starting to cover some ground, especially Ella.

We took the babies swimming for the first time! I feel like I have posted this already but maybe not, anyway I have pics of this too.

What else….Oh yes, My friend Holly had her baby boy Ethan, on his due date, Thursday. He is adorable!

And one last thing, my husband surprised me with a wonderful anniversary band. It is gorgeous! It is an eternity band and I absolutely love it!

So we’ve been busy…we’re here πŸ™‚ We are sorry for the lack of posting! I’ve been reading up on all of you bloggers, just haven’t had a chance to post yet.

Hayden is doing incredible on her potty training. She only has an accident ever so often and I am still so nervous when we go out with panties on, but she is doing well. I’m so proud of her!

So hopefully it won’t be so long until my next post πŸ™‚ These girls are keeping me on my toes so I’m sure we will have lots of funny adventures to post about from time to time!

Until the next one………….Goodnight

Milestones to record

I have been so busy lately that I haven’t had a chance to record the things my kiddos have been doing….First, Ella got her first tooth, the lower right front one on May 24. It is so sharp!!! Both of the babies have been reaching up for you to pick them up…I LOVE THAT. I think its my second favorite thing, aside from when they start calling me Mamma. Hayden has been out of school now for one week so, the plan was to really buckle down on potty training since she would be here every day. She has done so good and has FINALLY started pooping on the potty. During the last year of potty training “awareness” she has gone pee zillions of times on the potty, but would never go poop. So finally I made her sit there until she went. She read and sang…and finally called out, “Mommy I did a Taco!” Don’t ask me why she calls her poop that, but for whatever reason, I could care less, I was just so excited that she finally actually went! So her big reward for going was she could have gum. She always begs for gum, but we never let her have any. So I decided a while back that I would reward her for going poop with gum. So a gum chewer she now is πŸ™‚ She has had about 4 accidents in a week, but that is not bad considering! We are on our way to one child out of diapers!! WHooHOO!!!

I also one of my close friends got married on the 24th. Lindsey and Brian were wed in a fabulous ceremony that I was so happy to be a part of. Your happiness and love brought tears to my eyes. I wish you so much happiness and adventure in your lives! They are headed to Africa for at least a year to help run an orphanage that Brian’s cousin runs. Pray for their safety and for them to have lots of wonderful stories to tell when they return! I’m so sad because Lindsey is my in home hair stylist…it is so wonderful to just call her up and she comes to my house and I don’t have to leave all of my kiddos or take them all with me. Good thing I’m growing my hair out! πŸ™‚

Roughing it up

Hayden came home from school yesterday with a report that she was having excessive “unprovoked agression”. I thought this was a little wierd since Hayden is usually very nice to other little kids. The teacher had to put her in time out several times. So when she got home I laid her down for her nap, but she decided she had other plans. She kept getting out of bed and playing (nap time no-no) and then I noticed on our monitor that she was ripping all of her little flash cards into gillions of pieces. I went up there and she was histerical. Totally not herself. She was crying on the drop of a dime. The day before she had fallen asleep at 5:30pm and woke up for a drink at 11:30 and slept the whole night. Something was up. So I asked her if her teeth were hurting and she said yes and pointed to her bottom right molar…I looked and there it was…her first 2 year molar had finally peeked through. We’ve been waiting for these things forever it seems.

Happy Birthday weekend to Ty and Mary Elizabeth!!! Both are celebrating their 4th birthdays!!! Hope you all have wonderful weekends. Maybe this will be the last one for us as a 4 member family at home!
