FYI

Effacement-This refers to the thinning of the cervix in preparation for birth, and is expressed in percentages. You’ll be 100% effaced when you begin pushing.

By the way I accidentally said I was fully effaced and actually I am more like 70% or so. Getting close 🙂 Oh and my bladder infection results were negative…so really all that pressure was all baby sitting on my bladder. But at least it isn’t an infection.

Well we are back at the house now for the second time. We got power yesterday for most of the day and then it went out again at like 4 until this morning. So we are back here trying and hoping that the power will not go out again. I have too much stuff to get ready. I need to clean and make sure everything is ready for the little one.

Well take care all and I will keep you all posted!

My last appointment!!! Much progress and an end in sight!!!!

Well I went for my last appointment today !!!!! It was sort of wierd to not have to schedule anymore appointments. I am dialated to a 2 and fully effaced and the babe has dropped down even more. SO!!! They didn’t think I would make it through the week, but if I do, then I am scheduled to be induced on Monday morning. I am so excited!! That means no matter what I will have a baby by Monday. YEAH!!!!

The bummer part is that I have a bladder infection that really hurts. My bladder is so sensitive and I’m concerned that labor is going to be painful with it being that way. ANd I really really want to go natural. UGH! Oh well, it will all be worth it in the end.

Well sorry I haven’t posted much, but we are still at my inlaws due to our power outage from Rita. The one tree that fell in our yard HAD to be the one right by the power line and it broke it in half. If it weren’t for that we would still have power, because everyone else on our road does. Oh well…

Tonight we all went and saw Flight Plan. It was pretty good. Not as intense as I had thought it would be, but it was pretty good.

Well take care blog world!!!! Hopefully we will have a very eventful week 🙂

Hurricane frenzy

Well it looks like we are about to get blasted everyone so we are rushing around trying to get everything together to weather this big storm.

I had my checkup yesterday and looks like baby is still not ready to budge from her cacoon…which is a really good thing right now considering it would take moving heaven and earth for me to get to my hospital. THey have all the southbound lanes closed due to the evacuation. So we are praying that this drop in barometric pressure doesn’t leave us with a home birth!

We are having problems getting our cell phones to work, so if you are trying to get through to us, just know that we are safe and we will make contact once everything clears up.

I’ll post again when I get a chance!

SEE YOU THERE!!!!!

She psyched us up and then crushed us down like a ton of bricks

Well we thought maybe the big night was going to be last night….but we are still childless today 🙂 We went to the coffee shop to see Jared sing and Britton’s band play and then we all went to see Red Eye afterwards. I really liked the movie and it was pretty intense. I’m surprised that I didn’t go into labor from the intensity at the end.

So anyway, on the way home I start having some gut wrenching pressure and pain. Wow, it was pretty major. It wasn’t all the way up my stomach though so I was confused as to what was going on. So that lasted a couple of hours…we went and walked outside to see if that would bring on regular contractions or relieve the pain I was having. And that is exactly what it did, it just relieved the pressure. So, after another “labor possibility” we are still here and I’m still loaded 🙂 It does get us excited when it happens though. Bj actually started considering what to throw in the bag for himself….that, people, is an accomplishment. He ALWAYS waits till the last second to pack for anything.

Anyway, it was an exciting night, but nothing fulfilling. Hopefully though the babe has now dropped to the lowest she possibly could pre-labor, and hopefully all the pressure and pains made some progress 🙂 Its still a full moon on Sunday so we’ll see. Even still, only 14 more days to go till D-day!!!! 🙂

Tonight we are having some friends over for dinner that are due 5 days after we are. So we are both in a race to see who delivers first (and it better be me or I think I’ll go insane) then we are going to see Just Like Heaven. Should be cute.

Well, must clean house and cook…I’m making my favorite meal to cook…LASAGNA 🙂 yummy….maybe I should mix some Castor Oil in there for both of the preggo mommy’s benefit 😉 J/K!

Have a happy Saturday!! This is the last week of summer….the 22nd is the official first day of fall. It is a beautiful day today, so enjoy it!

Such a cute little puppy :)

Isn’t my pup so cute!!!! He’s been very cute and cuddly lately. I just had to post a picture of him. He has this new thing were he brushes all the hair on his head straight down over his eyes. Its pretty funny…don’t know why he does it 🙂

The waiting continues!

Well she isn’t here yet 🙂 But if she were born today, she would be born the exact amount of days early that I was 🙂 We’ll see……

Last night we watched the season premier of Gilmore Girls 🙂 So exciting!! I’m so glad that all the fall shows are coming on again. I like them so much better than the other shows. Then we watched Fever Pitch. It was cute and pretty funny. We also rented Man of the House, but we haven’t watched that yet. We are just trying to pass this time away as we wait.

I’ve been sleeping really good lately!! Finally!!!! The night before last I went to bed at 10 and fell asleep within one minute, bj said. Then I woke up at 9:45 the next morning!!!! I have been needing a good sleep like that.

I’m almost totally over my cold, which is good because I hate being sick, much less in the last two weeks of my pregnancy. YUCK!!! My MIL has been cooking dinner for us every night this week. So sweet of her. It has been nice to know that is taken care of and I don’t have to worry about it.

Oh yesterday I ordered some really cute curtins for the nursery…. here’s a picture of them.

They are so cute and will really add to the completion of the room.

Well everyone have a nice day and ALICIA!!!! Post already 🙂

Full moon this weekend

Well the weekend has once again come and gone. It seems like I had no weekend, because I spent the whole thing being miserable, blowing my nose, coughing and sleeping. Ugh!!! Now I am so so so sore from all the coughing and trying to recoop so I will have energy for delivery, whenever that comes.

Now I am up and trying to slowly tackle little jobs that I still have yet to get done before the baby. The family thinks that this is the big week…..most wager that I won’t make it past Friday and the inlaws have a thing about babies being born on full moons, which would be this Sunday….so I have to get over this sickness completely and then GET READY!!!! That would be cool if this weekend we had a little baby. Seems so unreal that it literally could happen. You wait 9 months for it to come and then when it is actually upon you it is sort of wierd. But of course we aren’t complaining or anything…we are so excited and can’t wait to meet our little girl!!!

We worked on the nursery a little this weekend and it looks so cute. We got shelves and pictures on the wall……so cute!!! Now I just have to get down to Pottery Barn Kids this week and get the cute curtins that I found and the room will be pretty much finished, minus the occupant! We even have the bassinette in our room now, which is a huge step, because BJ refused to bring it down to our room until it was getting very very close, so he must finally believe it is close enough 🙂

Well many things to do….mainly getting healthy!! Have a great week everyone 🙂

Cinderella
You are a true party person. You love dressing up in cool outfits and parties. You are also very kind and caring.

Progress was made :)

Well I am back from my appointment and I am now a full 1 cm and 50% effaced!!! That is progress from last week because I was not effaced at all then. Yippee!! The dr. said the babe feels average or slightly above average size, but not too big or small. She said it doesn’t look like I will be in labor in the next couple of days but she honestly can’t judge when the babe will make her arrival…could be any day now that I am basically full term.

Oh how wonderful that I am almost to the end 🙂

Thanks for the compliments on the shirt….it is from Wal-Mart and they have a black one too (Rach).

Well happy Thursday afternoon…I am going to lay down for a little siesta….I’m still trying to kick this cold that has settled into my head. Yuck!
