Surprisingly farfalle!

This week I’m prepping for a convention for Lindentree Boutique! I’m setting up a booth and I’m really excited and a litle anxious. I’ve been going through boxes, looking for displays that I’ve stashed, inventory is still scattered  between the new house and old house and just overall mayhem has set in. I’ve found so many things today that I’ve stashed thinking I’d come right back to and never did. The counters are littered with things the girls will bring me randomly and I will set here or there, and before I know it, things are piled high on every surface. Its getting completely out of hand and I have high hopes of a massive cleanup soon! I’m so ready to be organized again!
Last week I took all of the things that had been piled up or stored away that the girls have outgrown….exersaucers (times two), bedding sets, 12 boxes of clothes and shoes and toys. I may have mentioned the JBF sale before. This thing is amazing. I don’t go to shop, because clearly my kiddos have been super blessed with hand-me-downs and gifts of clothing for their birthdays’/Christmas. But I go to clear out. This year we took two carloads of stuff over. 129 items total. I went to pick up my remaining items at the end of the sale, dreading having to go through them and disperse to goodwill or store them again, and to my surprise, I only had 20 items left. Mostly all small clothes and shoes. I was so happy and thrilled to have all of that storage space completely cleared out!!! And the girls are even more excited because the money is all going toward a new swingset for them. It’s been a long time coming and one of the huge benefits of our move, since our backyard was so tiny at the old house there was no room for a swingset.

For lunch today I wanted something different than a sandwhich or salad or whatever we usually eat for lunch. I looked through the refrigerator and found this Boutini Pesto Sauce that I had been wanting to use. I cooked up some micro farfalle (bowtie pasta) and mixed it with the pesto sauce, chopped up some fresh roma tomatos and sprinkled some pine nuts on top. YUM! Quick, easy and really delicious. Plus you can use it hot or cold, so the leftovers will be great tomorrow as a cold salad. I really recommend it if you are looking for something a little different for lunch. The girls all loved it and so did BJ. SUCCESS!!!

New fresh walls

With the move that we recently accomplished and the new big girl room rearranging, I decided the girls needed some art for the walls. I love etsy for fun handmade art so the search was on. The rooms are not quite ready for pictures yet and we are still living out of some boxes but this is what I found and I’m loving it all!!!

For the kitchen…because sometimes we all need to be reminded to choose 🙂
This is in the twins room and I just love it!
And this is such a fun way to rember those key qualities!

Just a little wink from Him

Sometimes …when things fall into place that are so random that they are way more than coincidence but actually, are specific prayers answered to a T…it feels like God is up there winking at me. Letting me know that He really is watching little ‘ole me and cares. Thanks God. I’m winking back and smiling huge!

We have been working out so much, working like crazy and spending every other minute with these precious jewels that are growing up so quickly.

About a month ago I lost the camera that we were using and it had some recent pics on it, and it kind of just bummed me out becausee so much has happend since I have blogged last that I would rather update you with pics than with just text so I kept putting it off thinking we’d find the camera and here we are and we still haven’t and I still haven’t blogged.  So let me just give you a summary of some of the highlights.

My first stamped jewelry

These pics are not the greatest, but I hope to have some better ones soon. But here are a few of my first stamped jewelry pendants. I am getting some other shapes in to have more diverse pictures, but these are really cute and so popular right now. I am also going to have the option to add a birthstone crystal to the necklace if you want to have one made for a mom with the birthstones on the chain. There are so many options with these. They are great gifts for moms, (get a separate pendant for each child or combine them all onto one), grandmothers, brides, bridesmaids, best friends, girlfriends, children, the list is endless…..

If you would like to order one for Christmas let me know soon so I have plenty of time to create your perfect gift 🙂

I also have these available in gold plated pendants and chains. The ones shown are sterling silver.  $55 for gold pendant and chain and $30 for silver pendant and chain. $10 for each additional silver pendant and $15 for each additional gold pendant. Please allow 2 weeks for completion.

No time to blog, but this is too funny not to share

A 3-year-old tells all from his mother’s restroom stall.
By Shannon Popkin

My little guy, Cade, is quite a talker. He loves to communicate and does it quite well. He talks to people constantly, whether we are in the library, the grocery store or at a drive-thru window. People often comment on how clearly he speaks for a just-turned-3-year-old. And you never have to ask him to turn up the volume. It’s always fully cranked. There have been several embarrassing times that I’ve wished the meaning of his words would have been masked by a not-so-audible voice, but never have I wished this more than last week at Costco.

Halfway, through our shopping trip, nature called, so I took Cade with me into the restroom. If you’d been one of the ladies in the restroom that evening, this is what you would have heard coming from the second to the last stall:

”Mommy, are you gonna go potty? Oh! Why are you putting toiwet paper on the potty, Mommy? Oh! You gonna sit down on da toiwet paper now? Mommy, what are you doing? Mommy, are you gonna go stinkies on the potty?”

At this point I started mentally counting how many women had been in the bathroom when I walked in. Several stalls were full … 4? 5? Maybe we could wait until they all left before I had to make my debut out of this stall and reveal my identity. Cade continued:

”Mommy, you ARE going stinkies aren’t you? Oh, dats a good girl, Mommy! Are you gonna get some candy for going stinkies on the potty? Let me see doze stinkies, Mommy! Oh … Mommy! I’m trying to see In dere. Oh! I see dem. Dat is a very good girl, Mommy. You are gonna get some candy!”

I heard a few faint chuckles coming from the stalls on either side of me. Where is a screaming new born when you need her? Good grief. This was really getting embarrassing. I was definitely waiting a long time before exiting. Trying to divert him, I said, ”Why don’t you look in Mommy’s purse and see if you can find some candy. We’ll both have some!”

”No, I’m trying to see doze more stinkies…Oh! Mommy!”

He started to gag at this point.

”Uh – oh, Mommy. I fink I’m gonna frow up. Mommy, doze stinkies are making me frow up!! Dat is so gross!!”

As the gags became louder, so did the chuckles outside my stall.. I quickly flushed the toilet in hopes of changing the subject. I began to reason with myself: OK. There are four other toilets. If I count four flushes, I can be reasonably assured that those who overheard this embarrassing monologue will be long gone.

”Mommy! Would you get off the potty, now? I want you to be done going stinkies! Get up! Get up!”

He grunted as he tried to pull me off Now I could hear full-blown laughter. I bent down to count the feet outside my door.
”Oh, are you wooking under dere, Mommy? You wooking under da door? What were you wooking at? Mommy? You wooking at the wady’s feet?”

More laughter. I stood inside the locked door and tried to assess the situation.

”Mommy, it’s time to wash our hands, now. We have to go out now, Mommy.” He started pounding on the door. ”Mommy, don’t you want to wash your hands? I want to go out!!”

I saw that my wait ’em out’ plan was unraveling. I sheepishly opened the door, and found standing outside my stall, twenty to thirty ladies crowded around the stall, all smiling and starting to applaud.

My first thought was complete embarrassment, then I thought, where’s the fine print on the ‘motherhood contract’ where I signed away every bit of my dignity and privacy? But as my little boy gave me a big, cheeky grin while he rubbed bubbly soap between his chubby little hands, I thought, I’d sign it all away again, just to be known as Mommy to this little fellow.

You must pass this on to all the mothers who have had embarrassing moments with their children. Isn’t it great to be a parent!!!
