Disney!!!! Day 1- Magic Kingdom

I have been planning and planning this trip for weeks. Pouring over blogs, and pinterest boards, getting advice from friends. We could NOT wait to let the girls in on the big secret. That we were going to Disney. We had all these ideas how to tell them and we just kept waiting and waiting and letting the trip play out. It worked so great the way it did and it gave them little pieces to look forward to and really enjoy.

We woke up on Sunday and got dressed. I had the boys in Mickey shirts and the girls all got new Anna and Elsa shirts. Still no hint of knowing where we were going. AHHH the suspense was killing us!

We packed up, told them this was probably going to be one of the best days of their lives (Hayden was still not convinced and kept telling us how bummed she was to miss her first science fair.) and headed downstairs to the cars.

The video speaks for itself. We surprised them with the BIG NEWS finally and headed to the park. Magic Kingdom for day one. 

Right as we walked through the gates, the parade was beginning. We walked straight up and into a perfect spot and the moment was wonderful. The girls were totally in awe as each of the princesses rode by.

We rode the Jungle Cruise, walked through Swiss Family Robinson, rode Barnstormer (Hayden’s favorite), Buzz Lightyear, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Mad Tea Party, It’s A Small World

Rivan and Liam did amazing. I was a little nervous bringing them, but not ready to leave them home for a week. It was extra work, for sure, but they did so great. They got to ride a few rides with us, saw shows and gave us lots of hugs and kisses.

We made one dining reservation. Cinderella’s table was apparently under renovation so I booked us an early dinner at Belle’s castle. It was really nice and the food was really good! I tried the ratatouille, the spring salad sampler and of course “the grey stuff” for dessert.  Unfortunately, Belle didn’t make an appearance but the Beast did.

After dinner we hit the rides again. We rode, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway, Splash Mountain, the Carousel, Magic Carpets, Under the Sea Journey with Little Mermaid and Winnie the Pooh. 
It was a blast. There was so much to do and most of these we only rode once. The girls kept telling me how excited they were that the park didn’t close until 1am. I just laughed and said they could stay that long but I was going home much earlier for bed. 
We saw the Wishes Fireworks and Celebrate the Magic and it started getting chilly. The weather had been perfect all day. We had light jackets and shorts on. Once the sun went down it started getting pretty cold. We kept moving through our fastpass rides and trying to hit all the big important things. As we made our way to the gates the closing parade started. It was all glow in the dark lights. It was a perfect ending to our first day. I looked down and realized it was 1:27am as we got off the last monorail and last transit to our cars. I could not believe we had lasted that long with all the kiddos. My parents were troopers too. 
Day 1 was perfect. So many wonderful memories!

Surprises

So the whole trip has been one surprise after another for the girls. We wanted to tell them piece by piece so they could really enjoy the moment and appreciate each part. We drove in late on Saturday to our condo which we found on http://www.airbnb.com/c/lmunson2 . We got out of the car and I told Hayden to take a parking pass and room key to  MY PARENTS!!! They freaked. They had no idea they were meeting us. It was great!

Beach Day

Saturday morning was all about the beach. The girls have been to a beach once before. Galveston. Yes it’s technically a beach but it’s gross. We’ve been telling them about the beach and planning to take them for so long. 

They were so excited to go and the weather was ridiculously perfect. Slightly chilly but clear and sunny. 
They weren’t fazed at all by the chilly water. They hunted sea shells, crashed into the waves, squealed, made friends and made a sandcastle.

Rivan was in hog heaven. He loved the sand and squealed and laughed the whole time. 

Liam loved it as well. He kept getting fist-fulls of sand and didn’t know what to do with it. He played and played and then was ready for his nap. 

It was the perfect day. I wish we could stay here for days. I love the beach.

Cajun country and beignets

Friday morning while Bj and two of the girls went down to get us breakfast, the boys and Preslyn and I read old blogs from when she was a baby. It was so fun to remeber some of the little things I had forgotten. Yet another reason I have got to get better at blogging more regularly. 

So we packed up and continued on to New Orleans. I’ve never been and we wanted to try some original Cafe Dumonde beignets. 

The line was a little intimidating but luckily we have enough kiddos to keep us in and out of the bathrooms. Bj got in line for a table while I went to the bathroom line wih the girls and then we switched. So it didn’t make the wait too bad. We snagged a table close to the aisle which worked great for the stroller and then ordered 4 orders of beignets, a cafe au lait for me, hot chocolates for the kids and and an iced coffee for Bj. 

When our plates arrived their was powdered sugar EVERYWHERE  and it was fabulous!  We had it on our noses, beard, phone, shoes, and foreheads. It was fun. The kids asked if that was all they served and we said Yep and that was that. Vacation lunch is served. Liam and Rivan snacked on some milk and teething wafers and dreamed it was powdered beignets. 

The kids are traveling great. I’m so thankful because this has been a big undertaking but it sure has been fun so far. We got some school work done today and watched the never ending story.  I can’t wait til we tell them the big news. 

We booked a hotel in Orange beach, Alabama for tonight. Our main goal was to take the kids to the beach so that’s our plan for the morning. I’m hoping we can find some sand dollars or some cool shells. The girls are thrilled.

The great munson family adventure

It’s pretty surreal. Here we are. Enroute to a trip we’ve been planning in our minds basically since the first day Hayden was born.

The time when you get to take your kiddos to Disney World. Ah! I still can’t believe it. 

We’ve been planning this trip for weeks. Arranging schoolwork, ordering disney shirts off Instagram, arranging time off, park tickets, driving vs flying, hotels, fast passes , dining reservations, routes, oh my! Oh did I mention we kept the whole thing a secret from them. Oh yes. It’s been amazing and nerve wracking.

So today we got the kiddos after school. Broke the news that we were headed out on a roadtrip (epic screams . We haven’t even told them THE news yet) and loaded up. Our first plan was to hit our aunt’s Mexican restaurant but we left too late and missed that stop. Hoping when we return home we can make that stop . 
Stopped at Buccees for dinner food and snacks. Then back on the road headed for Lake Charles for the night.

2. We’ve been on spring break this week. We have a big surprise roadtrip planned for the kids so I was trying to come up with some local fun for them and we found a new fun outting. Indoor rock climbing. It was very challenging for the kiddos and adults. But also, tons of fun and great exercise.

3/Tried this recipe for a simple salad that I found on @buenobrandi instagram.  UM. YUM. Seriously. I loved it. So did my gang. She also posted a breakfast idea with red quinoa that has been great. I could literally eat it every single day. 

4. I got a fresh cut. Really digging it. Trying to change up my color for a grow out. Yeah yeah I know you’ve all heard this before. But I have an idea in mind, so we’ll see if I can meet it. 


 5. I set a PR for push press this week. 95#. Getting  back in my groove. Still have a ways to go 





It’s the weekend! Get out there and live it up.

A dream I never knew I had

There you are . Like a dream I never knew I had.

I always dreamed of having children. Never decided on what I wanted –boy or girl or both. Just healthy happy babies. 

After my girls, I felt complete and happy. Never longing or wishing for a son. Yet the moment I saw that you two were boys, my heart immediately lept with excitement at what was to come. Oh but now my heart is complete and so so full. 
Today, Liam, you said “Hayden” and your sister melted into the palm of your sweaty little hand, instantly.  Rivan you CRAWLED today and made my heart break a little at how another milestone has been met and how you are growing bigger each day. 
I love you little people that I never knew I was missing. I’m so excited for our lives together.

Stitch Fix #1

Ok, I jumped on the bandwagon. I signed up for Stitch Fix.  I’ve been eyeing it for a while and finally decided to give it a try. If you are clueless as to what I am talking about, let me enlighten you. Stitch Fix is a personal shopping experience. They send you 5 items based on your style profile and budget that you fill out. Then you try them on at home and decide if you want to keep them or not. SO cool!

I was on the fence for a while but this is what did it for me:

I have a real live person, that reads my notes, looks at my pinterest style board and tries to get to know me, so they can really help with getting styles I love to me.

DONE.

I mean, I love shopping, and fashion, but being a mom of 5, including two babies again, just leaves little to no time to update my wardrobe. Those that know me, know I live in my workout clothes, but when I do have a chance to get out, I like to look nice. Honestly, I buy most of my clothes from Target because its a one stop shop. Food, clothes, household, gifts AND they have a shopping basket. It’s a girls dream.

Anyway, so I decided to purge my closet, house, get rid of everything I don’t use and wear and put that money toward my stitch fix fund.

I anxiously awaited my first fix. My friends started getting theirs left and right and mine felt like it took an eternity. FINALLY mine arrived. The girls and BJ were excited too. Hayden even said, “be careful not to stretch anything, so I can wear it.” That girl. She is really close to being my exact height. I’m sure she will be trying to borrow my stuff any day. She’s already snagged some boots and a cardigan or two.

 This is perfect for me. Great lightweight material for transitioning to spring, blousy to cover that muffin top that I haven’t lost yet, dress it up with skinnys and boots and a blazer or down with jeans or shorts and sandals.

I went back and forth on these, but the fit was awkward for me and the pattern just threw me. I couldn’t fully accept the style which told me that I wouldn’t wear it so I sent them back.

I had mentioned that I had a wedding to attend this weekend so my stylist threw this in, but to me it was more of something I would wear if I were IN the wedding. Not something I would choose to wear as a guest and a little too plain for my style. Plus, I have a bridesmaid dress almost exactly the same as this should I ever need it.

This was a close keeper. It was a little awkward on. And a little too snug on my back love handles. EEK! Can’t wait to kiss those goodbye sooner than later. But the style was more my taste. Nice material and color.

One of my favorite parts of Stitch Fix is that they sent me little outfit cards along with each item of how to style it. I stuck pretty close to one outfit style in each of the photos.
