The Girl who cried Barf

Over the weekend, Preslyn started acting sick. Runny nose, lethargic, didn’t want to eat…all typical teething symptoms. So I figured she was getting her third bottom tooth, which Ella got about a month back…(can’t remember if I blogged that or not). Anyway, so it lingered on and finally she cut her tooth through so I figured, the symptoms will wrap up soon.

Tuesday night, she still isn’t up to par, so I keep the babies home with me, while BJ goes to the Y to play racquetball. Hayden tagged along with him. So, I get a call like an hour later saying they are headed back. This is unusual because BJ loves Racquetball and would never willingly cut his time short with it. He said he didn’t feel well so I just figured it must have been something he ate, didn’t sit right or something. So I go upstairs to get the babies up from their naps and Preslyn has thrown up everywhere. I scoop her up and cuddle her and she starts heaving, so I rush her into their bathroom and hold her over the sink and she proceeds to barf her poor little guts out. All the way down to dry heaving her stomach acid. I was really worried! I didn’t know why she was so sick. Right then BJ walks in the door goes straight to the bathroom and starts throwing up. Hayden didn’t know what he was doing and got scared. By that time, BJ is throwing up, I’m still holding Pres over the sink while she throws up off an on, I’ve got Ella tugging on my leg and can’t move her for fear of getting the barf germs on her and Hayden right in the middle of everything worried and trying to see. I call BJ’s mom and ask her to come get Ella and Hayden before they get whatever it is. Put Preslyn in her bed, poor thing, so sick. And start stripping down beds, towels and clothes that everyone is wearing. I changed all my clothes, washed my arms, face and hands and started getting Hayden and Ella ready to leave. As I’m packing their bags Hayden makes several trips into the bathroom saying “mom I’m sick too. My tummy hurts too” and then fake throws up in the bathroom. I’m telling her, “Hayden that is not funny. Daddy and Preslyn are very sick. Don’t act like you are sick. ” Hayden responds, “But I want to be sick too”. So I ignore it and keep packing. By this time, I’ve ran up my stairs about 20 times, in and out of the room with the pile of barf clothes and Preslyn who reeks. I start feeling like I’m going to hurl right along with everyone else just from the smell. So finally I get the girls off. Then I go into maintenance mode. Bathe Preslyn, get medicine for BJ and Preslyn, start the laundry, get them all situated and started on crackers. Finally around 10 or so everyone is sleeping, BJ is still barfing on and off several more times, I get a call from his mom saying Hayden just threw up everywhere at her house. I felt awful. I had no idea she was for real.

You must know that Hayden acts like she is barfing like once a week! So this was not out of the blue for her to pretend. It just so happened that she was for real, for once. I felt awful. She got sick three more times that night. About that time, I’m dead tired, about to crash for the night, I’ve taken my shower to get all the germs off and slept upstairs so I could hear and check on Preslyn. Suddenly, I get sick too. And again and again every hour for 6 hours. I was so weak I could barely get myself into the bathroom the last time. Luckily, Preslyn didn’t throw up the rest of the night and I had sent my other two away. Poor BJ was on his own. It was miserable.

The next day we both just stayed on the couch all day we were so weak. We took turns lifting Preslyn because we could barely pick her up. It was awful. We are all better now and still getting our strength back, but man was it rough. We went to town disinfectant everything imaginable. Thank goodness I bought the bulk pack of Clorox wipes a while back!

So maybe now Hayden won’t joke about getting sick on a regular basis.

You all take care, I hear this stomach thing is really making its rounds. Be ware!

First Time’s A Charm

This past Sunday was going to be my first time to help out in the 2 year old class at my church. It has been something I have wanted to do since we joined and even more so now that we have 3 children in the children’s program. So, I finally took the opportunity and signed up. I was a little nervous because I didn’t really know what was to be expected of me, but with several years of babysitting, nursery work and mothering under my belt I figured I could wing it if nothing else. Well I was supposed to be the helper to the main teacher so I assumed I would be doing minimal work and just lots of corralling!

So I got there a little early and the first service teacher was still there. The second service lead teacher wasn’t there yet. Oh well. So she begins to show me the ropes to an extent, but mainly just said everything was pretty much self explanatory. The craft was all ready to be assembled, the curriculum was very straightforward. So its inching closer and closer to time to start and still no teacher. I’m thinking ok, this is no big deal, except I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THIS CLASSROOM BEFORE! ahhhH!!!!

Anyway, so one of the supervisors of the childrens program stops by to check on all the classes and I tell her what’s going on. So she says she will help me. Meaning, I do the lesson and direct the class, she will change diapers and corral! AH! Anyway, it went really smoothly. I looked at the little 2 year old faces and thought, ok…this is Hayden times 11. I can do this! Luckily they are 2 so really the only thing they were worried about was when is play-outside time and snack time. I had a really good time. And though I wasn’t quite prepared for being the Main teacher, I think I did ok and I had a good time doing it.

The greatest part was the sneaky pooper! We had to check every single kids pants until we found who was REAKING up the room. Poor girl was just hiding from us for the longest time, but that smell was not to be ignored! She had training panties on and everything. Luckily!!! I was the main teacher so I HAD to teach the lesson of course, while my helper changed the diapers 😉

Yummy new find!

Around our house, we are big cereal or oatmeal eaters for breakfast. So I am constantly trying out new cereals and trying to find ones that taste good AND are good for us. So recently I discovered Archer Farms cereals at my favorite store ever, Target. They come in lots of healthy flavors and some are organic.

Since the babies were born and I went through my diabetic phase I have tried to incorporate more organic foods into our life. Anyway, you should try these they are delicious!

Hayden’s 3rd Birthday-Part 2

It’s been a long time coming I know, I know!

So, for Hayden’s long awaited birthday we went to her favorite place…Incredible Pizza. She had a few friends and family and we all had a blast. Well I hope they did, I was running like a chicken with my head cut off.

Her little dress was made by EMTANNER DESIGNS and isn’t it so cute. Of course in Purple, her favorite, and I wanted to find her a dress that was good for playing in, since she is so picky about her clothes these days. I found this one and the customer service at EMTANNER is AMAZING!!! They were such a big help!

Hayden is also a in a big phase of not smiling for the camera, so we didn’t get many good ones of her facing the camera. They all had to be sneak attacks. Anyway, we had so much fun playing all the games, eating pizza and celebrating our big 3 year old!

Preslyn and Ella (P is in Pink) were angels for the party and of course had to go on some rides too!! I can’t believe in less than a month they will be having their own first birthday! My babies are all growing up so fast!!!

Hayden rode go-carts with mom for the first time ever. Getting her to wear the seat belt was quite the job, but once we started going “SO FAST” she loved it! She came in third place (thanks Ty and Carter for letting us catch you).

The pics are up!!

Clark has posted some of the wedding pics from Sean and Alexis’ wedding!! They are so good!

Take a look 🙂

Wow, THANKS!!!

So, I go through the drive through, get my food, and then check my bags. I am ALWAYS missing at least one if not 4 things. So, I check the bags and sure enough this time, there were 4 things missing. SO FRUSTRATING!

We learned the hard way to check our bags because this started happening multiple times and we would get home and sure enough it usually would be like the one thing I ordered, wouldn’t be in the bag.

I tell the attendant, “Oh You forgot these four things.” She apologizes, goes back in and gets them. She also hands me a *bonus* drink with a look of “I’m sorry, will this make it better??” So I nicely thank her, thinking, “Cool, she gave me a free sprite or something. How nice.”

So on the way home I reach for the drink, take a big gulp.

WATER. Water???

Thank goodness for a free water to make it all better!

Hayden Turns 3- Part 1

Sorry this post is so delayed but I have been trying to get it done all week. So, early Tuesday morning BJ and I woke up and snuck into Hayden’s room. She was out COLD.

We sang Happy Birthday and literally she didn’t budge until about halfway through it. She was so excited though that her long awaited birthday was finally here. She has been so excited about this birthday.

So we brought her downstairs and she ate her Dora cereal. ( We didn’t really do a theme this birthday but she loves Dora and asked for a Dora cake, so that’s kind of the underlying theme this year.)

Then she opened our presents that we got her (except for one that we are saving for the party tomorrow.) She loved them and wanted to start playing right then.

So that day I had planned on pampering the little miss! We took her to the mall and she got a big girl hair cut.

It is SOOOO Cute! Much better than the aforementioned MOP. She really likes it and so do we! Then we rode the carosel and had lunch and then went to Libby Lu, where we thought we were going to get her nails done.

But instead they didn’t really have what we were going for, so Grammy took her on to Build-A-Bear and Alexis and I got the babies ears pierced FINALLY! I can’t believe it has taken me this long to get them done, but we have been a little busy in case that point hasn’t been thoroughly driven into the ground yet. We got Ella rhinestones and Preslyn little pink ones. So for those who may not be able to tell them apart, pink for Preslyn. I didn’t realize the little surprise Preslyn was doing for me until I looked at the pics at home. Please excuse my obviously dainty daughter 🙂

Hayden made her purple build-a-bear, who she named Susie. Purple is her most favorite color and they only had two more in the whole store! Yeah!

Then we took her to get her first real manicure at a salon. She got pink with sparkles and a flower on each thumb. They were so cute and she looked like such a big girl! Keeping her hands in the dryer for so long was quite the task but it was such a fun experience! and it only cost me $4! Can’t beat that!!

Finally we were all worn out so we went home for naps. Then later Uncle Sean and Aunt Lexi came over for dinner and birthday cake! YUM!

What a fun day we all had with our big 3 year old!

More to come after tomorrow!

Weekend warriors

This weekend we accomplished a lot of stuff. Sadly we still have SOOOO far to go, but our house is starting to take the shape of a home. I still have a month until my goal to complete the unpacking/set-up before the twins’ birthday.

Here is our new entry rug. We love it! It is just the right amount of classy, hip and double plus!! it had a bird in it. I am so into birds right now. I don’t know why but they are so cute!

Then our room finally got set up. Yay! We have a bed again! Still need to hang some stuff on the walls but its a start.

We had our pool drained and cleaned out. It got so bad from the storm! It is back to beautiful now! We also put up our new curtins.

Then the soft tiles came in for the playroom. This was BJ’s project and it turned out really nice. The girls heads will appreciate it the soft cushiness to brace their falls. We also had a garage sale, cleared out some more from the old house and unpacked a bunch of boxes. Sadly, like I said, still soooooo far to go.

Grrrr…….
